Not sure if this is the proper place to be asking this question, but I thought I might as well try. I've been studying Calculus recently, and in all honesty, I've really been enjoying it. The applications in physics are obvious in every way...even just with the (I'm sure, very simple) stuff that I've been doing so far with derivatives. However, I was wondering if Calculus can be used in Computer Science. And if so, what are some examples of its applications? My only experience in CS, if you can even call it that, has been PHP development--and I can't even remotely think of a way that I'd use Calculus. Then again, that's web development. So, in general computer science, do you use Calculus? If so, in what ways?
