Internet Research Project Instructions
Â
Using your favorite search engine on the Internet, research Business Etiquette. Â Choose three (3) of the business etiquettes from the list below:
Business Attire       Making Appointments           Gift Giving
Business Cards      Introductions/Greeting           Names and Titles
Body Language
Â
Then, choose three (3) countries you are interested in researching. Â Prepare a table showing how the three (3) business etiquettes are followed in your choice of countries (see example below). Â
Â
Your report must: Â
1.       Be typed
2.       Have a header with the following information:  your name, your professor’s name, name of the course, and semester
3.       Spaced:  Part I – Table should be single spaced; Part II – Application should be double spaced
4.       Use Times New Roman 12 point font
5.       Have numbered pages
6.       Be stapled in the upper left hand corner of the page
Â
The project should follow the format below. Â One sentence is not sufficient to describe an etiquette category. An example for one country is shown below:
Â
Part I - Research findings:
Â
*Countries |
Country 1 |
Country 2 |
Country 3 |
Business Attire |
Men: Â Should wear dark suits with white shirt and conservative tie. Â Shoes should be polished. Â Women: Â Should wear dark suits or dresses (skirts and dresses should come below the knee); low heels, no perfume, and conservative hair styles. |

Making Appointments |
Appointments should be made 3 months in advanced via email. Â Be sure to obtain a confirmation email; and, reconfirm appointment 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day prior to the date. Â Show up on time as lateness is a sign of disrespect. |

Gift Giving |
Gifts are not expected and may be considered a bribe if the gift is expensive.  However, presenting a small gift with your company’s logo is acceptable.  Flowers are an acceptable gift as a thank you for an evening of entertainment.  Avoid sending white flowers as they are usually used for funerals. |

Â
Please submit copies of all sources with your project. You must highlight the information you have used in your table on your sources.
