Completing the Response Paper
Food Log
Is your diet helping your educational experience or hurting it?
Below are the specifications for each of the paragraphs:
First Paragraph: In this paragraph, you will discuss the theme or sum of your diet i.e. what kind of diet do you have? Do you eat mostly fast food, sweets, candy, etc.? Your topic sentence should explain that theme. Be sure to be honest with your assessment. Minimum paragraph length: four sentences.
Second Paragraph: In this paragraph, you will address the question specifically: how is your diet affecting your academic performance. Make sure if you think that it is not that you can logically explain why not. If you don’t you will lose points. This paragraph should be at least five sentences in length and begin with a topic sentence that answers the question in one sentence.
Third Paragraph: You can write another paragraph if you think you need to.
Note: Your Food Log should act as your source i.e. (in other words) any argument must be supported by your Food Log.
Your paragraph must follow these rules:
· It must be typed, double-spaced, with your name at the top of the page.
· It must explain why you answer the question the way you do by using specific facts from the contract.
· It must use the “evidence sandwich” approach showing how the facts support the topic sentence.
· It must be written entirely in your own words.
· Every sentence should relate to the topic sentence.
