For your third and final essay, you will choose an essay from Patterns for College Writing and argue against it. Keep in mind that, while you may agree with an author’s thesis, you may disagree with a piece of evidence the author uses to support it, a definition used, a distinction made, etc. While some of these texts are essays that we’ve read and discussed as a class, others are not. Therefore, you may need to familiarize yourself with new essays to find a topic that interests you. Choose 1 of the following essays to argue against:
