Arcade Tokens
Do you remember your most precious childhood possession? I think every person still has his or her favorite childhood possession. It might be a toy he or she likes; it might be a group of unforgettable memories of his or her childhood. I treasure arcade tokens because they remind me of my father’s love.
I hated my father when I was young, because he didn’t play with me often. My friends’ fathers played with them all of the time. This made me very jealous and angry. It hurt me that he often didn’t remember the things he promised me. He always said, “I’ll take you out to play next weekend.” My waiting was infinite.
One day, my opinion of my father changed. My father called me and said he would take me to an arcade. I immediately ran out of my house and went into the car. When my father and I arrived, there were so many gaming devices. I couldn’t take my eyes off the “Board Coin” because the reward of the game is a very big doll.
The game was difficult for me. I tried 50 times, but I still failed. Afterwards, I cried and told my father I did not want to play this game any more. He said, “Don’t give up easily and don’t worry about money. I made money in order to make you and your mother happy.” These words made me cry so loudly that I couldn’t hear anything but the sound of my sobs.
After that day, I realized I misunderstood my father. His conversation with me taught me that he never stops loving me, we just need to talk. Now, when I see arcade tokens, I recall the day I discovered how much my dad cares about me. These tokens remind me that no matter how busy I am or where I am, I need to always talk to my parents. They also show me how much my parents love me.
