five-step hypothesis process

I need this problem solved and I need a complete walk through in each step showing the work using the five-step hypothesis process using the t test to solve so I can learn it.

I see some other solutions already posted here but they do not provide enough information.

Please state the hypothesis scenario, calculate the test statistic, and state the conclusion.  If you can calculate the p-value and include step-by-step showing the work I will include an additional amount to the tip.  Use the T critical value and compare that to the test statistic, to state the conclusion.  Please state if this is significant or not.

Please show all work especially how you got the mean and SD.

Here is the problem:

A new process for producing synthetic diamonds can be operated at a profitable level only if the average weight of the diamonds produced by the process is greater than 0.5 karat. To evaluate the profitability of the process, a sample of six diamonds was generated using this new process, with recorded weights .46, .61, .52, .48, .57, and .54 karat. Do the six measurements present sufficient evidence to indicate that the average weight of the diamonds produced by the new process is in excess of 0.5 karat? To answer this question conduct an appropriate test of hypothesis using the five-step process outlined in our textbook and utilized in the solutions to the Chapter 8 review problems.
