Using the text book and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (www.CCOHS.ca), develop control strategies for the following situations with physical, chemical and biological agents:

  1. Operating a very loud and noisy machine
  2. Working in a hot and humid environment
  3. Operating a power tool with excess vibration
  4. Technician working around the radiation of an x-ray machine
  5. Cleaning metal parts with a highly corrosive acid
  6. Working on an assembly line in a raw chicken processing plant

Your interventions should include a control measure at each of the three stages of the source-path-worker model for each of the above hazardous situations.

The key to the assignment is to first recognize whether each hazard is based on a physical, chemical or biological agent. Next be sure to consider control measures at each of the three stages of the Source-Path-Worker model for each of the hazards. This will make it easier to answer the question, plus it will provide you with valuable information to study for the final exam. Consider using the following format, but any format will be fine.
