Lesson 4: Learning Disabilities

 

 

Research your local bookstores, Walmart, Target, Office Max/Depot for workbooks and software programs for basic reading and basic math skills building/instruction. Students located on military bases may conduct an Internet search for books. Look for workbooks that are inexpensive for families and teachers to purchase.

After you have found two (2) books for reading and two (2) books for math, research (Internet) two (2) apps for tablets and/or phones that would be beneficial for children to learn basic reading and basic math skills.

Review the material if it would benefit a student with a learning disability. Look for age appropriate material that a child in an upper grade level (3rd or 4th grade) would be able to use, but not be embarrassed by to assist the child's success.

Name the workbook and/or software, where you found it (give web address), author’s name, and cost. Give the name of the app and where you found the app. (Google Play or Apple iTunes, etc.) Summarize what you liked best about the workbook or software.
