Annotation Bibliography
Your assignment is to prepare an
annotated bibliography using MLA
documentation style.
Your
annotation bibliography must include the following:
1.
The
topic
of your research, which you must state at the top of the page.
You are NOT writing a paper on one of these topics. You are just pret
ending that you
’
re going to write a
paper. So, if you were
going
to write a paper on gun control in our
“
pretend world
,
”
you would need to
find sources to use to help support your topic
–
that
’
s where the annotation bibliography comes into
play
. If you
’
re only going to use Internet to search for sources, that
’
s fine, but do not use Wikipedia.
Make sure you look at the sample annotation bibliography found in the Week 6 content folder.
Choose of the following topics:
Gun control
Minimum wage
Immigration

even sources
of information about your subject.
The seven sources must include
at least

One source must have an author’s name
Once source must have an article title but no author
Once source must have a website name but no article title or author

n’t have an article title or author, so the website name
would be used in place of an author’s name.

All sources correctly documented in
MLA
style.
4. Make sure your list of sources in alphabetical order.

All sources should have a short summary:
A short summary (1
-
3 sentences) of the information found in the source.
An evaluation of the source (credibility,
usefulness, etc.)
. In other words, did
you think the source was credible or not and why. Don

t forget this part, as it
’
s
a significant part of your grade.
6.
Make sure and review the doc
ument with the sample annota
tion bibliography so you know
what I am
expecting.
