1. Explain why Kino is suspicious of the doctor’s “treatment” of Coyotito in Chapter 3 of The Pearl. How does this experience help illustrate why Kino is so dedicated to the idea of Coyotito receiving a proper education? Answer: Kino believes the doctor is there due to the pearl. Coyito is very sick and is possibly going to die due to an infection. Kino is still very worried that the doctor is up to no good when the doctor says he will be back later to check on the boy. This experience helps kinos point because it shows Coyotito that money brings evilness and education is good.
