Then, Consider how the essay, "Liking is for Cowards. Go for What Hurts," gives us another example of creative non-fiction (Beard's essay did as well). Franzen's essay also argues that there are important aspects of life, important experiences, that we might be ignoring if we get caught up in surface relations. (second Paragraph)

 

You will begin working on your Personal Essay Assignment this week and the lecture material is meant to help you consider how important it is to think about language and writing craft in order to write in a way which will connect with your readers and convey your intentions. Share your thoughts about writing craft  as it relates to the lecture and reading material and, more generally, to creative non-fiction. (third paragraph)
