Cause OR Effect Essay, Rounding up of the wild mustangs, writing homework help (750-1000 words)

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE QUESTION!!!

This is a cause OR effect essay. It needs to either be the cause of the round of of wild mustangs or the effects of rounding them up. This is an ESSAY... I care about the content and I expect my tutor to as well.

My topic:

Rounding up of the wild mustangs

What I have so far:

As the title states, I will be writing about the cause and the effect of the rounding up of the wild mustangs that reside on BLM property. I have been volunteering as a TIP (Trainer Incentive Program) trainer with the BLM since I was in high school, competed in several "Extreme Mustang Makeovers", adopted several mustangs of my own and consider myself a strong supporter of the BLM and the mustang roundups.

In 1971 Congress passed the Wild-Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act. This act was put into effect so it would keep the wild horses (or mustangs), that were deemed "living historical symbols of the pioneer spirit", from being hunted or wrongfully sold. The act stated that these mustangs were not to be captured, branded, harassed or unnaturally put to death. Since the act came into effect, there have been several revisions. These revisions gave The Secretary (BLM) the ability to round up excessive mustangs to protect the rangeland from overgrazing and allow freeze brands to track the mustangs origin.

Wild horses, who were once able to travel and migrate hundreds of miles to different food and water sources, are now only able to survive in small areas of land due to mans influence on rangeland. These horses are unable to cross busy cities, railroads or highways.

The approximate management level (or AML) is the number of animals a particular portion of land, or herd management area (HMA), it can support. The AML should not exceed 26,000 head of horses for available BLM land, there is approximately 50,000 currently on these rangelands. Population of these wild horses multiples by 20% annually.

In 1973, Velma Johnston introduced the Wild Horse and Burro Adoption program. Mustangs are herded into the BLM holding facilities using riding horses, ATV's or helicopters. They are fed, watered and kept enclosed until they are adopted or die of natural causes. Many activists believe that leaving the horses out in rangeland is best; it is what the original act stated and we should let nature take its course. Unfortunately, man disrupted nature and these horses are unable to let it take its course. By rounding up these mustangs and marketing their ability to make outstanding ranch and family horses, we are better conserving the historical symbols they are.

The feedback I have received so far:

"This is an interesting topic! Will you address three main causes for doing this or will you address the three main effects? Addressing both cause and effect would actually be two papers!"

Essay 3: Writing to Show Cause and Effect
Write an academic essay where you show a clear relationship between cause and effect, with a topic chosen from your major field of study, your work life, or your personal life. Here are some examples of topics from your textbook and from successful student papers:

  • Causes of symptoms or conditions (medicine and health—autism, ADHD, cancer, sports injuries)
  • Causes of student success or failure, effects of teaching methods or tools (online learning, adult learners, returning students, homeschooling)
  • Causes of business growth and failure, marketing, business trends
  • Causes and effects of climate change, ecological change, scientific phenomena
    (adapted from Russell 196)

You may have other ideas and are not sure how to use them in a cause and effect essay.
Feel free to ask about getting ideas to help shape your topic into a Cause and Effect framework.

  • You will write your essay in the third person.
  • Use the APUS Online Library article databases, no open web sources.
  • You need a minimum of three sources for your essay.
  • Integrate the sources using MLA format.
  • All essays should be 750-1000 words, in MLA format.

WARNING: you may NOT use this paper for any other class. Using this paper for any other class is a form of academic dishonesty.
