                Descriptive Speech

 

The purpose of descriptive speeches is to provide a detailed, vivid, word picture of a person, animal, place, or object. Audiences should carry away in their minds a clear vision of the subject. 

 

For your first speech I would like you to perform a descriptive speech. 

 

The speech topic will be: A first time event 

 

This includes first time performances, experiences, and first hand encounters such as: first speeches, first athletic participation, first musical performance, first recital, first day of college, first time sailing, and etc. 

 

This excludes: intimate or personal interactions. I do not want to know anything too personal. The assignment is to describe a specific event not to invade personal lives romantically or anatomically. 

 

 

Time Requirement for this speech will be a minimum of 2 minutes, and maximum of 5 minutes.
