Question description
Â
For this assignment, you will need to download and open a data file:Â Practice Data.xls
1. Perform analyses on THREE variables (one nominal, one ordinal, and one interval or ratio level variable) to obtain appropriate descriptive statistics (e.g., measures of central tendency, dispersion, and distribution) related to the sample. Be sure to choose appropriate descriptive statistics that corresponds with the level of measurement (nominal/ordinal/interval/ratio) for each of the three variables selected. (Keep the variables separate and independent of one another. For example, DO NOT perform analysis of something like study hours by men and women. In this case, it would be one analysis for gender and another for study hours.)
2. Cut and paste your EXCEL output into a Word document. Describe the results in a narrative form, and make sure that it is clear and concise. For example, even if men = 1 and women = 2 (as data sets often do), do not say that "the model group was 1." This would not make much sense and would make the reader ask which group was 1 and which group was 2? Make it simple and clear. Rather, you should say something like "the model group was 1 (i.e., male)" or something similar.
3. Write up the results of these analyses as they would appear in a research report. Use the APA manual or the OWL at Purdue Writing with Statistics webpage for formatting guidance.
Here is a model paper using a different data set:Â Assignment #1_Model Paper.pdf
