Pictures of athletes sitting in staring rows had been thrown into the pile, their frames splintered and their glasses in pieces. The door to the closet hung open, revealing stark emptiness. Article had been hurled into the room, leaving the shelves bare. The bright hues of a hundred neckties added color to the scene as the warm rays of the sun played upon them. Jagged pieces of a jigsaw puzzle challenged me to try to fit them together, but the cleanup job which faced me was puzzling enough and at the time required a greater effort than I knew I could manage. Quietly I reached for the doorknob. I would shut the ugly sight from view. The knob came off in my hand!
