Easter Seals (http://www.easterseals.com) is a 501(c)(3) organization (public charity).  For this final assignment you are to analyze a policy that guides the provision of community services for older adults for your non-profit agency. 

Instructions

As the American population ages, policy issues related to older adults and services for seniors are hot political topics.  Identify an area of policy related to community services for older adults and their families.  State the facts regarding this policy.  Research this area describing significance and issues, recent and pending actions, and adequacy of the policies in meeting constituents' needs.  Compare and contrast proposed amendments/alternatives to existing policy and describe policy change that may better meet the needs of older people and their families being served by the non-profit agency you selected.  This must be an original paper and may not duplicate on prepared for another course.  This paper should include the following sections.

1.        FACTS:  policies, demographics and affected populations

2.        ISSUES:  detailed discussion of all the relevant issues of the chosen policy on the non-profit agency you have selected.

3.        ALTERNATIVES: detailed discussion of possible alternatives/solutions. 

4.        RECOMMENDATIONS:  detailed discussion of one or two possible alternatives/solutions you recommend and why.  Your recommendation(s) must be one or two of those discuss in the alternatives above.

5.        POSSIBLE OUTCOMES OF RECOMMENDATIONS: detailed discussion of possible outcomes/consequences/results of the possible alternatives/solutions you recommend in the section above, and why.

6.        FUTURE IMPLICATIONS: detailed discussion of the implications of your recommendations and possible outcomes, and why.

7.        SUMMARY CONCLUSIONS:  Summarize your analysis and indicate any personal conclusions

8.        BIBLIOGRAPHY:  Use American Psychological Association (APA) format for all references and in-text citations.  A reference list should be included at the end of the document. 

The length of your project should be no more than 8 pages, double-spaced, not including title and reference pages.  Use one-inch margins on all sides and include page numbers.
