  • Assume that you wish to analyze the following hypothesis: “There is no significant difference between lectures, small-group discussions, and large-group discussions in terms of math achievement scores for sixth graders.” Using Table 6.5 as your guide, determine the appropriate statistical test to use to analyze this question. Work with the assumption that your sampling distribution is normal. Answer these questions to determine your statistical test:

  • Describe the process of null hypothesis testing in your own words. Include in your discussion an explanation of Type I and Type II error.  What is effect size? How is it related to null hypothesis testing?
