Directions: Write your own original poem, following these rules:
1. Your poem should be written in free verse – this means you are not bound by a specific set of rules, rhyme scheme, meter, or rhythm. ***Your poem can rhyme if you want it to, but you do not have to follow a specific pattern.***
2. Your poem must be at least 10 lines long.
3. You must incorporate at least 3 of the following literary/poetic devices:
· Metaphor
· Simile
· Personification
· Alliteration
· Allusion
· Irony
· Symbol

5. You must complete the chart on page 3 for each device you used in your poem
