A van de graff generator uses a moving belt to accumulate electric charge on a hollow metal globe on top of an insulated column. The one shown has an electric potential between the spheres of 2x10^5V. The large sphere becomes positively charges and the small sphere is negative.

There will be a point between the spheres where the potential is zero. Why?
If I move the spheres twice as far apart, what happens to the magnitude of the electric field between them? Explain.
A positive charge is located on the conducting surface of the large sphere, at a point closest to the small sphere...
