Hi I'm doing a mousetrap car project and I need some help. Can someone look at attached screenshot and let me know if I'm doing my work right? I'm not very confident in my calculations. I'm looking for coefficient of friction and the quantitative amounts of the forces on the free body diagrams. Also, as far as energy goes....how would I go about calculating the net impulse after the car has been triggered? I'm doing a video analysis also but the below variables should help. I did a linear fit for the data along with two quadratic fits. One for the speeding up phase and the other for coasting when it is slowing down. How would these come into play? The quadratic fits gave a smaller number for the "a" value and since quadratic is position I took the derivative to get velocity but are these the average acceleration? Random variables Ave. velocity = 1.364 m/s Acceleration during trigger phase: .107 m/s^2 Acceleration during coasting phase: -.121 M/s^2 Let me know what else you need. Thank you!
