"the neurons the fire together wire together,"

An old saying, "the neurons the fire together wire together," is a good way to conceptualize the way in which mental concepts connect in our minds. For example, I have a friend whose birthday is in early April and one year he received the Beatles' album Help! for his birthday. Most years at the first sign of spring or warmer weather he finds himself playing this record or singing the songs throughout the day. It usually takes him a few listens to figure out that "being in the mood to hear Help!" and it being near spring is no coincidence. 

I want us to share your own similar experiences and to also comment on what these experiences mean in terms of how our minds store and organize information.
