They must also meet high-stakes test requirements, satisfy the needs and rights of diverse learners, and help English Language Learners to understand and thrive in the classroom. This assessment will familiarize future teachers with an overview of what transpires in a literacy-rich environment as well as objectives, standards, strategies, and assessments that work.

Requirements:

A.  Identify a grade level (K–8) for this assessment.

B.  Identify one grade-appropriate language arts common core standard or state standard that could be used during a week-long unit.

Note: Include the official reference (number/letters) and text of the standard chosen and an in-text citation.

1.  Create three measurable learning objectives related to this standard that each includes a condition, a behavior, and a criterion.

C.  Identify three different grade-appropriate instructional strategies (one for each objective identified in part B1) that could be used in your classroom.
