Discussion
Try to map Cattell’s 16 personality factors and Eysenck’s three personality traits onto the Big Five dimensions. Discuss areas where the fit is good and areas they do not correspond as well. Give specific information regarding the information where they fit well and where they do not.Â
After you have created this map, discuss methods that you could use to assess an individual’s personality. Would you use some of the tools we have discussed? Would you want to use the personality tests we have reviewed in the course or something different? Why or why not? Create a treatment plan that would include some of the techniques a therapist could utilize based on one of the trait theories. Give examples of the goals that would be appropriate and why.
