Question description
Â
The two articles for this week that focus on investments in human capital point to a contradiction – the seemingly commonsense idea that training is important and valuable, but the difficulty in measuring its value or quantifying it.
In the simulation (Capsim Simulation), you see a direct impact on the investments you make in hiring and training new staff on your company’s productivity and overall performance. In the real world, this impact is not as easy to measure. Should training only be undertaken when there is solid, concrete evidence that it improves productivity? Why or why not? Support your answers examples from your experiences and at least 1 credible, high-quality source of outside research.
