Creationism & Evolutionism

People have many different views on the creation of life or the existence of man such as; “How did we get here? Were we created or did we evolve randomly? Are we the product of purposeful intelligence or are we merely the end result of countless cosmic accidents? What does the evidence say“? (All About Creation. 2002 – 2015).  Many people have many different ideas on how the human species evolved. One of the most scientifically discredited ideas is from the Bible in which people believe that God created the Earth, man, and all animals. Most scientists believe that the human species came from a series of natural process, which is better known as the Theory of Evolution.

Some scientists believe that the religious accounts of human creation are false because if God brought a massive flood and created all things on Earth paleontologists would have found that fossils and rocks were formed quickly during the flood. Fossils that were closer to the surface will contain generally larger animals of all the species that have ever lived, while the deeper rocks will tend to contain smaller species of animals. The reason for this is that smaller animals would in all probability drown first compared to larger animals because the water would get to them first. The larger animals would survive longer because they are able to move further away from the rising waters levels.

The one of the only species or organism that has had the ability to adapt to their environment is the human species. The fast expanding information on past climate changes have changes our ideas about the evolution of human species. The benefits of those changes made on our ancestors as they confronted irregular conditions stronger and able to adapt. It was the beginning of upright walking from all four legs for some of us.

Comparing

Both creationism and evolutionism have a propensity to oversimplify the explanation of how life began because they are both theories with no definite conclusion. Creationism and evolutionism have a lack of conclusive evidence. Both of these theories lack concrete evidence to prove one right and the other wrong, so this battle will continue for years to come. Creation theory lacks evidence that God exists because no one has ever seen him or talked to him. “Creation denotes the existence of a divine Creator who has exercised His creative abilities, creating this world and the life-forms we see as life is the product of intelligent contrivance” (All About Creation. 2002 – 2015).

Evolution does not provide concrete evidence that humans evolved from apes because there are no DNA linking human DNA with apes close enough to call it a match. Another theory that was introduced by astronomers was the Big Bang Theory that was quickly deemed “not credible because it cannot be tested, observed or measured” (Laing, R. 2007). The Big Bang Theory was described as a large explosion that created the universe and all the planets, which also was the beginning of existence for humans. It appears that these two theories will “agree to disagree” for the remainder of time as we know it.

Evolutionist Perspective

From an evolutionist perspective humans came about by evolving from another creature such as an ape. “Evolution stresses the naturalistic (random, undirected) descent of all living creatures from a common ancestor who originally evolved from inorganic matter and also stresses that life is the product of random chance” (All About Creation. 2002 – 2015). Scientists still today “are always trying to find evidence that shows this evolutionary process is a natural rule of physics” (Strandberg, T. 2015). The one thing that is lacking from the research is proof that human DNA matches an ape’s DNA close enough to state honestly that humans evolved from apes, but since this proof does not exists this theory will continue to be just a theory. Charles Darwin (1859) explains that “what we need is a plausible mechanism, feasibility, and a history of functionality that gives the scientific credence by supplying the much needed mechanism which is natural selection” (All about Creation. 2002 – 2015).

Creationist Perspective

From a creationist perspective the universe, humans, and animals were all created by God in order to reveal his love and compassion. They believe that God create Earth, oceans, and all living things found there within. All things were created in six days and on the seventh day God rested. It is also believe that all humans were created simultaneously and given different languages to speak in different parts of the world so there would be no fighting and war. The different cultures and countries were not meant to harass one another or mingle with one another since they were given different languages they were meant to stay apart.

But when Adam and Eve created sin all things changed and sin poisoned other things. Adam and Eve were only spiritual figures, but given their act of defiance against God by eating the apple is when sin was created. Once sin was created it could not be taken away and have caused people to sin in other ways. This was the beginning of the deterioration that humans would experience; caused by hate and war instead of the laws that were intended by God of teamwork and compassion.
