The following are my guidelines for the term paper:

1. Student adheres to the requirements of APA, academic integrity, and writes a term paper on topic with effective use of resources. No fewer than 15 resources are used. Class readings can be used. References listed are also citations in the body of the paper. There is never a reference without an accompanying citation. Less than 5% of the paper is direct quotes. None of the paper is plagiarized. The paper is coherent, and demonstrates that the student is evaluating a problem and leads to conclusions.
 
2.  Student does all of the above (item 1), and in addition, uses 15 resources; demonstrates the ability to analyze the problems critically, and provides o. learning riginal thought, that is, ideas not drawn directly from the literature, but ideas that are defensible and demonstrate creativity. This is an A.

3. For all papers, a title page, and abstract, a reference section, and the body of the paper. The body is 10 pages double spaced, no less. All tables, graphs, charts, figures and illustrations are in the end matter of the paper, before the references, not in the body of the paper. Do not triple space between paragraphs. The left margin is 1.5 and the right, top and bottom are 1". Use New Times Roman, 12 pnt.

4. No more than 5% of the paper may be direct quotes. All quotes and paraphrases are properly cited.

 

This is the challenge. 

The title of your term paper is "The Role of the CIO in Effective Information Technology Strategic Planning through Corporate Governance."  This is a broad topic area, and I expect you to appreciate that the CIO as a strategic planner and the CIO as an executive are two different roles. There might be a tension between these two roles. The term paper is not a review of the discussions. Each discussion explores a strategic role.

Review the grading rubric. You are to use APA style. Review my discussion on academic integrity. Do not assume that you know APA if you have not actually referred to the manual of style. You are not to plagiarize any of this paper. Any means none.   The body of this paper is DS 10 pages, excluding title page, abstract, end matter and references. Performance details are in the grading rubric, but I am very glad to clarify further. All tables, charts, illustrations, graphs, figures so are in the end matter, not the body of the paper. You are to use 12 pnt font, New Times Roman.
