Part 1 - Due in Week 5 - Submit Draft to Smarthinking Part 2 - Due in Week 10 - Submit Final Paper

Directions: Submit a paper on "The Role of the Healthcare Documentation Specialist" formally known as Medical Transcriptionist.

Prepare a two-page paper , double-spaced with 12-pitch Arial or Times New Roman font, using the APA Style format. The paper should have a title and reference page and should not be calculated in the length requirement. Please specify at least three references to write your paper. These references can include your textbook, valid websites and the virtual library. Please submit your draft to SMARTHINKING for critique and review (See tutorial below for assistance if needed). Make sure to specify you would like help with proper APA formatting and citation, as well as grammar, spelling and sentence structure. Please submit your paper early in week 5 to SMARTHINKING, so you will have your results back in time to submit to the dropbox for week 5. Get started early, your FINAL paper is due in week 10. This means you have 10 weeks to complete the assignment. Procrastination is not a valid reason to have an extension on this assignment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not copy and paste material from any website. All content should be in your original words, and supported by resources found during your research. Save your paper in your computer in WORD as a .doc or .rtf file.

Grading Rubric:

5 points: Week 5 - Draft of paper submitted to Smarthinking with all required elements and submitted to dropbox for week 5 5 points: Week 10 - APA formatting, acceptable sources and proper citations. 5 points: Week 10 - Length, grammar, spelling, sentence and paragraph structure, etc. 10 points: Week 10 - Content _______ 25 points The recommended format to submit documents is Rich Text Format (RTF).
