Interest in workplace safety has grown over the last century or so. For various reasons, the expectations and nature of methods used to keep workplaces safe has changed in many ways and will continue to change. Like engineering, itself, the field is influenced by science, social expectations, and significant events.

These two courses are introductions to workplace safety. IE 411 focuses as implementation, while IE 561 focuses a bit more on management. Almost all of the material is identical in both courses, but some assignments differ. However, bear in mind that the courses offer only a snapshot of a continuously-changing landscape. 

The course is one and online both mostly the same.
