insulting and downgrading to an artist

I fell that the assertion of 'my kid could paint that" is insulting and downgrading to an artist who spends so much time and hours trying to create master piece and for someone to say their child could paint that is just a spit in the face. I feel like those five words is beyond hurtful and only people who are trying to delibertly hurt someone would say something like that.
