write and then edit

what I mean is that when you are writing, try not to be too hard on yourself. Allow yourself to make mistakes. Then, go back and correct the mistakes after you are finished with the draft. Personally, I struggled with this idea and would always edit as I wrote. What about you all - do you write and then edit or do them simultaneously?
