 The movie I choose is Equalizer which is an action movie and is about a man who have a mysterious past. He finds out a girl is being control by a Russia gang and he try to help her making his past return back. Media can influence our socialization but in this case young people since the majority of young people spend their time on media. Some parents have control on what their child are watching but others don’t. What they learn are beneficial but others are not as they learn about the world and how it functions. At early age, most of the child watch dramatic and violence programs that are issue to be seen from adults. The men portrayed they’re aggressive and men work in the area of the government or science. Whereas, women are seemed to be working in the prostitution. In the movie, the gender -based values are being put forth that men are in control of women and they can do anything they want to do. The men wear black color clothes and elegant however, women wear short dresses. The language use for men and women were the same they use bad words and strong tone. The hair style for men were bold and hairs but for the mean people the majority have long hair. The differing films allows deviant behavior by either gender because women were treated less equally then men. They do reflect our changing time but prostitution and violence still occur and prostitution but in the movie the female are the one being prostitute and treated like trash while men are treated as strong and intelligent. In the Hollywood area they want to show that actors have more opportunities then actress roles as men have the role of a fighter and women are prostitution or a lower role. The power is strong on the influence of socialization for the reason everything we see and everything we want in life can be destroy in one single second through media. For example, female must have a nice body and be known through the community and men must be attractive and have muscles. The importance of stereotypes can be negative and positive but it all depend on the person receiving the message.
