2. Client profiling happens all the time. Every time I purchase an item from Amazon, I receive emails with certain items that I might want or need in the future based on my purchases. It also happens when I use a loyalty card at my local grocery store, I obtain coupons for future purchased based on my previous purchases. I think profiling based on ethnicity can be an issue or based on social status is a concern. It can lead to a negative stereotype that could possible upset or offend a consumer if coupons are based on nationality or ethnicity. I have found it strange that people will protest or even riot over racial profiling in a criminal justice issue but remain relatively ignorant to racial profiling with respect to financial issues? 

 

Do you sense many folks even understand what digital marketing is or really see it as a threat?
