existence of an interface, CommDevice

I'm having trouble with this piece of code for a programming exercise.  Here is the exercise description:

Assume  the existence of an interface, CommDevice, with the followingmethods :

  • transmit: accepts twostringparameters  and returns nothing
  • receive: accepts twostringparameters  and returns aboolean

Define aclass , Firewall, that implements the above interface, and has the following members:

  • astringinstance variable , permittedReceiver
  • astringinstance variable , buffer
  • aconstructor  that accepts astringparameter  that is used toinitialize  the permittedReceivervariable
  • an implementation of the transmitmethod  thatassigns  the firstparameter  to the destinationinstance variable  and the second to the buffervariable . It also send toSystem.out  themessage  "Data scheduled for transmission to dest" where dest is replaced by the actualvalue  of the destinationstring .
  • an implementation of the receivermethod  that checks if the firstparameter  isequal  to the permittedReceiver and if so it sets the bufferinstance variable  to the secondparameter  and returnstrue ; otherwise it sets the buffer to the emptystring , prints themessage  "Attempted breach of firewall by" whereis replaced by themethod 's firstparameter , and returnsfalse .

 public Firewall(String receiver){
      permittedReceiver = receiver;
   }

   public void transmit(String first, String second){
      destination = first;
      buffer = second;
      System.out.println("Data scheduled for transmission to " +  destination);
   }

   public boolean receive(String first, String second){
      if(first == permittedReceiver){
         buffer = second;
         return true;
      }else{
         buffer = "";
         System.out.print ("Attempted breach of firewall by " + first);
         return false;
      }
   }
}
