Teachers at a private school decided to restrict their after school hours activities in an effort to campaign against their employers' decision not to increase their wages for 12 months. In particular the teachers did not run a tennis or soccer coaching class for students. Parents complained and the employer requested that the teachers reinstate the classes, stating the classes were an entrenched part of their duties. The teachers reminded the employer that they had no responsibility to work outside school hours. Identify whether or not this type of behaviour is likely to constitute industrial action as defined by the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth). IRAC Method. Australian Law of Employment.
