Vampire Productions is a production company in Mystic Falls, Virginia that produces teen
romance and dystopian-based movies. Elena Gilbret is an executive assistant to Vampire
Productions’ president, Stephen Salvitare. Salvitare is much older than Gilbret even though he
looks very young. Gilbret is 23 years old and graduated from the University of Virginia with a
degree in Communication Studies. After Gilbret had completed her "probationary" period with
the company, she received a dozen red roses and a note on her desk from Salvitare that said
"Congratulations, now you’re mine for good." Gilbret thought this note was creepy but didn't say
anything. Salvitare went to lunch one day with Gilbret and said to her, “You look so good I'd
like to bite your neck." Damon Salvitare is Stephen's brother and the chief financial officer of
the company. Damon and Gilbret had a sexual relationship the first month she worked at
Vampire Productions. They had sex together about 20 times. When Stephen found out his
brother had slept with Gilbret, he said to her, "If you want to move up in this company then you
should suck my blood." Gilbret quit after Stephen made this comment.
