This week, you will apply what you have learned about copyright law.

Familiarize yourself with the Napster case at https://onlinelaw.wustl.edu/blog/case-study-am-records-inc-v-napster-inc/. If necessary, conduct additional research to make sure you understand the copyright issues present in the case.

Then, in a 2–3 page paper, briefly summarize the intellectual property law issues in the Napster case and then explain how this decision has impacted contemporary culture.

Make sure that your written Assignment is:

  1. 2–3 pages in length;
  2. Double-spaced and in a 12-point font;
  3. Well-written and grammatically correct;
  4. Organized in a logical fashion that makes it easy to follow and understand;
  5. And cited properly.

The viewpoint and purpose of this 2–3 page paper should be clearly established and sustained. The Assignment should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc.). Your writing should be well ordered, logical and unified, as well as original and insightful. Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics. Use the appropriate citation style for all citations. More details can be found in the GEL-1.1 Universal Writing Rubric.
