Is democracy endangered

Is democracy endangered when trials are closed to the press? Why? Why not? What would be the problem if we adopted a system (similar to England), where we exclude press reporting about a trial until it is over? What would be the harm? You don’t have to understand the British system. Just talk about the implications of no trial coverage or reporting until after a trial is over. Under British system, press are allowed in court, but banned from reporting until trial ends. Is that OK?
