Humanism has been called the "Third Force" in psychology

Background Required: Humanism has been called the "Third Force" in psychology, the first 2 being psychoanalysis and behaviorism. It has had an enormous impact on our culture. Some people believe that if we had a national religion, would be humanism. Carl Rogers is the quintessential humanist and he developed Client-Centered Therapy out of humanism's basic tenets. This therapy is still very popular today. Read through the scenario below to respond to the following questions ( see attached files for the scenario). QUESTIONS: 1. Do you believe the therapist in this scenario showed "positive regard" to the client? Give at least one example if you believe this is true. 2. Do you believe the therapist in this scenario showed "empathy" to the client? Give at least one example if you believe this is true.
 3. Do you believe the therapist in this scenario showed "genuineness" to the client? Give at least one example if you believe this is true.

< Grades M14. Group Discussion #4 @ Detail Submission Grade least one example if you believe this is true. Scenaflo: Therapist: you seem to be a little sad and down
today. Client: Yeah Therapist: (waiting) Client: yeah,
maybe. Therapist: it's almost as if this past week might
be too sad to even discuss, even with myself. . . I
guess. . .? Client: (smiling), Yeah, you got that right.
Another week another screw up. I guess I messed
up again. It never seems to fail. Therapist: And I guess you are feeling, here we
go back to square one. Client: exactly. It's four
steps forward five steps back. Therapist: Yeah, just as we seem to be making
progress, boom, there it goes, the rug gets pulled
out from under you again. It is so damn
frustrating. meeovmmm flail [El J Q 5 Courses Calendar To Do Notifications Messages
