Some of these have led to preventative measures to ensure that those types of crimes can be prevented to a degree, while others have led to the enactment of laws based on the nature of crime committed in these cases.
Some examples of such cases include, but are not limited to:•Marsalee "Marsy" Nicholas—Marsy's Law.
•Adam Walsh—Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act.
•Amber Hagerman—The Amber Alert.
Tasks:a.Locate the cases related to any one of these people on the ITT Tech Virtual Library.
b.Provide a description of the case, including a summary of the offense.
c.Provide a discussion of how this case has impacted the judicial system.
d.Do you feel the resulting law or act has had the desired affect? Provide a supporting rationale.
Submission Requirements:•Submit your responses in a one- to two-page Word document.
•Use 12-point Arial font and double spacing.
•Cite references from the textbook, the ITT Tech Virtual Library, or credible Web sites to substantiate your answers.
