Market pricing is a common method of determining pay levels for employees. There are numerous compensation surveys out there. Some of the free surveys such as salary.com and salaries.com are notoriously flawed with poor data. Other surveys such as BLS and state governments are generally low to the market because most employers do not participate.
Assignment:Â
1. Research and recommend purchase of at least three salary surveys that would make sense for the XX organization.  Â
2. Identify cost, which SPECIFIC surveys you would purchase.
3. the SPECIFIC positions the survey would validate,
4. why you selected the survey and potential pros and cons of using the survey.
Note:  Compensation professionals use multiple surveys for each position. Different surveys specialize in different industries and different positions.Â
