Should the death penalty be abolished in the USA? Evaluate this in terms of is the death penalty effective in preventing violent crimes. Compare and contrast the USA and one other country that has the death penalty against at least two countries who have abolished the death penalty. What are their crime rates? Do they have more or less violent crime? Is the death penalty a deterrent against violent crime? Evaluate the other factors which impact the deterrence of violent crime – could those be useful in the USA?
