Johnathan Swift's brilliant

You've now read Johnathan Swift's brilliant (it is, trust me) satirical essay, 'A Modest Proposal.' (Now keep in mind he was kidding, no one was eating children. Swift was trying to move people to think about the world and hopefully jump in and help solve a pressing problem.)

He was sort of the Trevor Noah or Samantha Bee of his day.

Your mission - and you have to accept it...

Write a 2-3 page dialogue between Swift and a comedian of your choice. You can choose the comedians above or anyone you like. You're going to discuss how comedy and society intersect, how they reflect and impact one other.

It should look something like this:

DrM: Hey, Sam.

Sam: How's it goin', Doc?

DrM: Pretty good, although things are gettin' pretty weird out there.

Sam: You're tellin' me. I just emailed my Congressman and he emailed back in Russian.

Got it? Good. Now go write and have some fun.
