Chapter 15

1.     International Outsourcing- In my research I discovered an interesting article on outsourcing legal services. Of course this concept is not new and large firms outsource to smaller firms and vice versa all the time. However, this article speaks specifically to international outsourcing of legal services. One of the most interesting ethical issues being addressed in the article was the Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) was the "problem of the unauthorized practice of law (UPL) by individuals not qualified to practice law in a particular jurisdiction." (Ross, 2010). There is probably rarely a check and balance for the practice of international law on foreign soil that does not actually involve coming into a court room and of course several legal services do not involve court appearances. 

 

What additional ethical considerations does LPO bring to light?

3.     Explain how domestic and international HRM differ. Discuss the recruitment, selection, training, compensation, and performance appraisal needs for different types of employees working across borders.
