Part 1

Chapter 7 (attached) in Kamin explores personality styles and their impact on most aspects of our lives. One of this unit's objectives is to investigate conflict resolution practices and, indeed, we find the readings in the Dana e-book have prepared us for this moment. For this discussion, please share your responses to the following questions:

  • What is your source of energy?
  • How do you gather information?
  • How do you make decisions?
  • How do these elements shape your personality (or, what is your personality style)?
  • How does this knowledge matter in a unit on workplace investigations?

 

Part 2

  • In Chapter 5 (attached) of Kamin, we learned about one model for solving problems that is made up of nine steps. Kamin points out that the model is "flexible and open to modifications depending on the circumstances" (p. 88). Remember back to a time when you had a problem at work, in your community, or at your home that involved other people. Respond to the following questions:
  •  What was the problem?
  • Which of the nine steps did you use? Which ones did you skip?
  • What was the impact of the process you used?
