Propose a model by which the U.S. can reduce its growth rate and maintain the current standard of living. Provide both mandatory incentives imposed by the Federal Government and voluntary measures that come with ‘perks’.  You need to assume that people won’t simply abide by the new legislation out of the ‘goodness’ of their hearts!
Putting such a model in place now will ease the ecological burden on earth before it gets even more serious than it is currently. The U.S. can even serve as a model for other developed countries. Consult the references below for examples in place such as China.
