Five basic emotions have been universally identified

Five basic emotions have been universally identified across cultures. They are happiness, sadness, fear, anger, and disgust. Each emotion creates a different level of energy and reaction. For example, normal human responses are different for happiness from anger. The overall theory is that emotions are evolutionary and help teach us something about each situation (e.g. sadness teaches us that we can carry deeply about a person).

Using two of the theories of emotion in the reading, describe the theories and explain how they are different from each other. How do we use our emotions to learn about ourselves, and others? Try to use one of the theories of emotion in your response.
