extremely frustrating experience of arguing

I am sure we have all had the extremely frustrating experience of arguing in circles and failing to convince a friend or relative of the immorality of their stance on some issue or another. Research indicates that discussions like these can be made more productive by (1) understanding the others values' and (2) reframing your argument in a way the specifically appeals to those values.

In this TED talk, Jonathan Haidt discusses the five foundations of morality, and how liberals and conservatives, in general, weight their importance differently.

This article discusses reframing moral arguments and gives the specific example of how to get conservatives to identify with and therefore empathize with Syrian refugees.

Question: Watch the video and read the article. What are your thoughts? Can you think of a different moral issue on which liberals and conservatives (or some other relevant groups) disagree that could potentially be reframed to appeal to the other side?

should be one page! Thanks!
