2. Leadership can be define as the " process of influence between a leader and follower to attain group organization or societal goals.(Matsumoto & Juang, 2013). Leaders ought to lead , be an example , attentive , responsible and accountable. A real leader should be accountable for their actions, they recognize where they have done wrong , make it right and keep moving forward. It's not just about the title but you have to put actions between the badge. Many times at the work place , I've seen a person receive promotion and got very lazy like they have arrived. There is a process connected to leadership, you don't remain at the same place where you started but as time passed you should be learning , growing and mastering your craft. A real leader gets involves, effective , productive and great decisions makers .
The general manager we had before the switch was very Autocratic . It was about his way and no way at all, very selfish attitude and this behavior aggravated me just a little bit because he had all the right team members to make the work place a much better place. Many times there were altercations between him and the mangers because he gave them task but always override their decisions . For me personal I would be so irritated to go to work because I didn't want to have to face this man for 8 hours . The individualistic behavior created a hustle environment to work in and that is not healthy at all . I believe that the work place is a place that you can display your skills , make a living your family but enjoying it while doing so. It got so bad that , our last walk through by the cooperate team was so horrific that she walked out because there was no order. To avoid confusing , a leader realizes he/she needs a strong team to stand with because a leader cannot do everything alone . The new general manger we have right now is very interactive and collectivistic, she allows the managers to put in action what they have been taught . One thing that I admire about her is the fact she is not afraid to teach anyone what she knows . Some leaders are very selfish in teaching because they are afraid that they will be replaced but as a leader you should be confident in who you are and what you have to offer. She is not only a great general manager but she cares about your well being , you can talked to her abut anything and trust that she will give the best advice possible . This is behavior that is not common in the American culture,(Matsumoto &Juang , 2013). Leaders in other cultures are more open to their employees coming to them verses our culture . "Subordinate in these cultures often will not hesitate to consult their bosses about problems at home and to seek advice and help from them about those problems. ( Matsumoto & Juang , 2013). The atmosphere at work is so much better , we work together because the managers cannot be successful without the employees

3. Thinking of a position that I have worked under supervision of a leader or superior would be my current position. "Leaders are expected to be decision makers". Matsumoto & Juang (2013) In my current position my supervisor is the decision maker. Being in investigations for Child Safety before we remove a child and or children we must go over the decision with our supervisors. She is the one who makes the final call to weather we remove or have the children stay in the home. Being a supervisor she had certain privileges also known as chain of command. I would say she falls under the power distance for categories. According to our reading cultures that are low on power distance minimize rules and customs. They are not afraid to disagree with their boss. In my field, most employees do not disagree with what the boss says about removals. Weather we agree or not we have to do what she decides. I get along with my boss and we are all treated as a team. For other aspects of our job we work together as a team, we all help each other.
