An important role of managers is to monitor their employee’s performance as well as their productivity, and ensure they are working to accomplish the organization’s strategic objectives and goals. Effectively managing employee performance by supplying positive as well as constructive feedback to employees not only benefits the organization as a whole, but also employees by letting them know what they are doing well and what areas could be improved upon.
For your main Discussion post, evaluate and explain the purposes and benefits of performance management. Analyze and describe some methods used by Human Resource Managers to identify and measure employee performance? 1. Identify and briefly describe the steps in performance appraisal. What legal issues do HR departments need to look out for?
2. What is meant by “developing” an employee? Why should organizations be concerned about career management?
