1. For this discussion, we will consider the process used to analyze job functions in the workplace. This discussion has two parts. First, answer the following questions:

 

    What are the steps in job analysis?

    Why is it important to do a job analysis?

    Can all jobs be analyzed? Why or why not?

 

Second, provide a narrative analysis (200 words) of a job that you have held. Consider the job's place within the company and organizational structure, the job description and the qualifications necessary to do the job.

 

2. Research a current news item that relates to job design within an organizational context. Explain the basis for the selection you made regarding job design as it applied to Human Resources.  Summarize the key points from the article in terms of what you have learned from it and reflect on how you will apply what you have learned in a career context.  Your summary should be a minimum of 3 paragraphs in length with each paragraph having 4 – 5 substantive sentences. Please be sure to properly cite any sources used
